The Ingredient
at the Heart of
ARU
After exploring many traditional ingredients in her search for relief, Rosie found herself returning to one that stood out above the rest:
borage oil.

Rosie's Approach
After exploring many traditional ingredients in her search for relief, Rosie found herself returning to one that stood out above the rest: borage oil.
Borage Oil
NATURES RICHEST SOURCE OF GLA

Borage oil is pressed from the seeds of the borage plant (Borago officinalis) and is one of the richest natural sources of Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid found naturally within the skin.
GLA plays a role in supporting the skin's natural moisture barrier. When that barrier is healthy, it helps the skin retain moisture and better protect itself from everyday irritants. For people with dry, itchy or sensitive skin, maintaining that barrier is an important part of keeping skin feeling comfortable.
Rosie chose borage oil because it combined naturally with the gentle cream base to create a moisturiser that could be used every day by adults and children alike. It remains the heart of the ARU formulation today, just as it was over 30 years ago.
Whats in GLA?
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) is a naturally occurring omega-6 fatty acid found in borage oil.
It helps support the skin's natural barrier, allowing it to retain moisture more effectively.
Borage oil contains more GLA than almost any other plant oil, making it a valued ingredient in skincare for dry and sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has long been valued for its soothing and moisturising properties. It helps provide hydration and comfort to dry, sensitive skin while creating a smooth, gentle base for ARU. Together with borage oil, it helps leave skin feeling soft, calm and cared for.
"Nature often provides simple answers—we just have to be willing to keep looking."
