Frequently Asked Questions
Can Aru Cream be used on babies and children?
Yes. Over the years, many parents contacted Rosie about using Aru Cream on their babies and children, and it became a trusted part of many family skincare routines.
As with any skincare product, every child's skin is different, so we recommend testing a small amount on a small area first. If you have any concerns about your child's skin, please seek advice from a healthcare professional.
How often should I apply Aru Cream?
For best results, apply Aru Cream regularly to clean, dry skin. Many customers use it two or three times daily, or as needed.
Use around 1 teaspoon for everyday care, or 1–2 heaped teaspoons per affected area during moderate to severe flare-ups
How long does it take to see results?
Everyone's skin is different. Some people notice a difference quickly, while others find that improvement is more gradual. Consistency is important, and Rosie always encouraged customers to give their skin time to settle.
Not seeing results?
If your symptoms aren't improving with ARU, your skin may require a different approach. Conditions such as seborrhoeic dermatitis can look similar to eczema but require different treatment. As with all skin conditions, consult your GP.
My skin has improved with Aru Cream, but it still looks slightly red or irritated. Why?
Over many years, Rosie noticed that sometimes the skin would improve with Aru Cream but not settle completely because it was still being exposed to an irritant elsewhere.
One of the first questions she would ask was:
"What washing powder are you using?"
Rosie found that residues from conventional laundry detergents left on clothing, bedding and towels could continue to irritate sensitive skin. For this reason, she often recommended trying a gentler eco-friendly laundry detergent alongside using Aru Cream.
It wasn't about replacing the cream. Rather, reducing potential irritants often gave the skin a better chance to settle while continuing to use Aru Cream.
Can I use Aru Cream every day?
Yes. Many customers use Aru Cream as part of their daily skincare routine.
What makes Aru Cream different?
Aru Cream was developed by Rosie following her own experience with severe skin problems. After years of research into natural ingredients, including borage oil, she created the cream that would go on to help generations of customers.
Is Aru Cream suitable for sensitive skin?
Aru Cream was created with sensitive skin in mind and has been used by people with dry, sensitive and easily irritated skin for many years.
Do I need to change my skincare routine when using Aru Cream?
Rosie often believed that simpler was better. Many customers find it helpful to reduce the number of heavily fragranced products they use and focus on a gentle, consistent skincare routine.
I'm currently using a steroid cream. Can I use Aru Cream as well?
If you are using a prescribed steroid cream, it is important not to stop treatment suddenly without speaking to your doctor or healthcare professional.
Rosie often spoke to customers who wanted to reduce their reliance on steroid creams, but she always encouraged people to do so gradually and under appropriate medical guidance. Stopping steroid treatments too quickly can sometimes lead to the skin reacting or becoming more uncomfortable.
Many customers chose to introduce Aru Cream as part of their skincare routine while working with their doctor to manage any changes to prescribed treatments.
If you have concerns about your medication or treatment plan, please consult your doctor or healthcare professional before making any changes.
